International Generalist Day
One day. Generalists gathering in person, all over the world.
In 2024, 500 people showed up. In 2025, more than 3,000 did, across 88 cities in 35 countries.
This year we need hosts. That could be you.
Why this exists
Being a generalist can be a lonely thing. You don’t slot neatly into a team, a title or a LinkedIn headline, and it’s easy to assume you’re the only one working that way.
International Generalist Day exists to bring generalists together in person: to make real friendships, and to show people they were never alone in this. Once a year, in as many places as we can, we all get in a room together.
It started with 500 people. Last year it was over 3,000.
What hosting actually looks like
A meetup can be anything. A three-person picnic in a park. A hundred-person hackathon. A coffee, a walk, a dinner, a workshop. It’s completely up to you.
You pick the shape
Small and quiet or big and loud. Your city, your call, your kind of people.
We support you
We’ll help you get it off the ground and out into the world, so you’re not organising it from scratch on your own.
You meet the other hosts
We give hosts a place to connect with each other, swap ideas and steal what works. You’ll be doing this alongside people running meetups in dozens of other countries.
Got a space, or food and drink?
Every meetup needs somewhere to be. If you run a venue, a cafe, a bar, a co-working space or a food and drink brand, you can partner with us and get in front of a room full of curious, well-connected generalists in your city.
